Of Lives Lost...

I am very disturbed with the recent tragedy at Jelapang toll. We passed that toll everytime we went back to Kuala Kangsar. The thought of the toll plaza had claimed many lives sent shivers down the spine.

Yesterday was another one of those, seven lives were lost. The same spot, the same cause. Then came the media frenzy, some big shot was telling the plan, some other big shot was expressing sympathy blah, blah, blah. Deep down... nothing is done, it is just another mishap on the highway.

According to the data (this is based on the news on TV3) some 142 odd lives ( if I got it correctly) were lost there. Is the figure not enough to send the wake-up call? Do we want to have an even number of 200 or some other "ong" number before anything moves?

And again, the bus driver is at fault, tired driver? If only we have a dollar for everytime we have that excuse. And what happened to the second driver concept? I drive to, you drive back is it not? Aiyaaaa....

I am sending my heartfelt condolences to the family who had lost their loved ones in the tragic accident. May they be with the faithfuls.

Al-Fatihah
